We were about to go home after our short stroll along the Legaspi boulevard
when we passed by this furniture shop..
From afar, you'll just think it's a normal wood.
Beautifully furnished.
But when we tried to move the table.
God!! It was very massive.
I can't even lift it.
So I tried to move the chair instead.
Yes, I was able to move it!!
Hooray!!
But mind you, it still heavy!
When the agent came to us.
We asked him tons of questions and found out that it wasn't an ordinary wood.
It's Iron Wood.
The exterior has the looks of a wood
but when you dig deeper,
there's the iron wood characteristics.
This wood was found after a typhoon hit the province in a private property.
They were trying to move the "wood" but because it weighed tons.
They needed reinforcement to do it.
They believed that the wood was more than 500 years old.
It strived to grow, unlike the other woods, despite being "dead."
And later on, after studying the said wood, they made furnitures out of it.
And it costs tons as well.
