Haciendas de Naga : Wall Climbing

When I went home for vacation, summer of 2012,
my best friend mentioned to me that there's a new place where I can feed my adventurous cravings.
It wasn't too fancy, but it's something I can share with my siblings.

She told me about Haciendas de Naga.
It is located in Carolina, Uptown Naga City.
It can be reached by riding a jeepney off to Carolina or renting a tricycle from the city proper.

The place was still in the works when we visited, so we just took the zip line (400 meters)
and the wall climbing.
At present, visitors can enjoy the wave pool, play on the golf course, go horseback riding,
visit zoofaris adventure, go fishing and do pili nut picking.

My youngest sister climb first.
Second on the lead.
Us, three!!!

Benguet : Strawberry Picking

One splendid summer of 2012,
I asked a long time friend of mine if we could go to Baguio and do the strawberry picking
since I haven't done it. :D
He was a bit hesitant at first but later on, he said yes. Yesh!

So we went to Cubao and inquired at several bus stations.
Subsequently, we saw ourselves boarding Victory Liner bus around 8 pm (I think) at that time.
Meanwhile, I spoke with a friend who lives in Baguio if he could accommodate us and
he gave us a positive feedback.  Yay!

Our journey was shorter than we expected as we traveled during the night,
so we arrived in Baguio around 2 in the morning and we couldn't reach my friend.
Instead, we stay in a hostel nearby, took some power nap and put the alarm at 6am.
Following a few moments of snoozing, we readied ourselves and head to pick strawberries.
Woohoo!!!
One happy kid here!

When we arrived at the farm,
I was really amazed by the sight - blue skies on top of a stunning plantation.
I was sooo excited and ecstatic that finally a tick on my bucket list!  haha!

The farm is located in La Trinidad, Benguet.
It's around 30 minutes away from the city proper,
and is accessible by private cars and public transportation.
I would suggest that you visit the area early, around 6 am to avoid busy streets.
It also gets a little crowded if you get there late.

Haciendas de Naga : Zipline

One of the things you can do when you're in Haciendas de Naga is
to go for zip line which has 3 lengths: a 400-meter, a 200-meter, and a 150-meter.

We picked the longest one, the 400 meter for P300/hd.

After our admission,
the staff prepared each one of us for the zip line.
They placed harness carefully around our body,
gave us a little orientation and a few reminders.

When we were all set,
we were asked, one by one and who would like to go first, to come up and experience the thrill.
My youngest sister did it first.

She was bound and determined enough that
she even asked about having the superman-like ride.

On the other hand, my other sister was already having cold feet to do the ride.
We convinced her that she needs to conquer her fear and be brave.
She's only scared, but I know she can do it.
Life is, after all, taking the risk, I added. Hehe! (irelate ba? LOL)

Her nervousness is so vivid on her face, but I bet she's excited as well.

Me?
No need to say much. Hehe! :p

After the very brief ride,
we stroke a pose and capped our zip line venture. :)

Dates Tayo

As I was going through my hard drive,
I came across this photos (dated Aug 2011).  Haha!!!
Sooo young and old school.

We had a lot of fun harvesting dates from this tree.
I remember I was only 3 months old at that time when I started to work abroad.
I didn't have any idea of what the dates are as we don't have it back home but I've grown to love it.
Ohhh, especially the long red ones.  OMG!!! I sooo love it. :D

Anyway, we all came from our duty back then, and we spotted the tree from our lobby window
and hurrah!!
Dates attack!!! :D

We took a few.
The height of the dates was pretty unreachable even on tiptoes
so we took a bench so we can stand on it.
Haha!!!
(Short girls problems)

Personally, I prefer the not-so-ripe dates.
I want it a little crunchy with a bit of acrid taste after a few bites.
Some opted the ripe ones because
they're soft and sweet.

And after a few picks, we went home with our packs almost half-full.
YeY!!
Happy kids! :)

Celebrating Christmas 2015

The time has come to commemorate and celebrate his birthday.
One of the moments that I've always wanted to celebrate.
Because for me it's more than just a gathering.
More than just a reunion.

We didn't have a big party.
Instead, we opted to have a simple dinner.
We invited a few friends as some of them are on vacation and they have their own thing.

We even had a video call from our friend back home.
Thank you technology.
We could get in touch with our family and friends despite the distance.

Happiest Birthday JC!!!
