After a brief visit at the Cagsawa Ruins site,
(as we were to return the next day)
we then proceeded to our next destination, the Lingon Hill.
We took a jeepney bound for Legazpi-Daraga
or the one with signboards "Loop 1" or "Loop 2."
We asked the driver to drop us off at the Lingon Hill entrance.
Since vehicles are not allowed to go inside,
our feet and legs will be challenged uphill.
According to the advise,
it is best to ascend either early in the morning
to catch the wonderful sunrise at the Albay Gulf,
to avoid the sizzling heat of the sun
and to be able to see Mayon Volcano's naked glory.
Or go up the hill late in the afternoon
to have a wonderful view of the sunset,
to witness the sparkling city lights,
and to feel the cold breeze from the ocean.

But we did it mid-day. haha!

So hello burning sun.
(kaya to!)
From the entrance gate,
after a short registration and paying the entrance fee,
we took off to explore the first site.
The Japanese Tunnel.
We climbed up the stairs, feeling excited.
We were guided by an old lady from the registration booth.
According to her, one cannot go in the tunnel unless you have a guide.
*therefore siya yung guide namin.. O.O*

he's waiting for the "guide" |
She mentioned that the tunnel isn't that long and
You'll see Japanese statues artistically dispersed inside.
But we didn't bother exploring it since the key holder wasn't around.

Back on the road,
we resumed to trek uphill.
We made sure that we walk on the side of the road
where the trees can shade us.
I, especially, stopped sporadically..
to catch my breath,
to appreciate the view,
and to take tons of photos. :D
Then we passed by the Kapit-Tuko trail,
a shortcut going up the hills.
*instead of going through the concrete road
Back on our feet we walked.
Still enduring the heat.
Oh my gush, Mr. Sun!!
*keeping ourselves hydrated with our bottled water*
Until we finally reached our destination!!
Hurrayy!!
Oops!! Not near the mouth of the volcano. *toinks*

This concluded our Lingon Hill escapade.
Always look back.
Take in what's wonderful.
Don't mind the pain and the discomforts.
Life is bitter-sweet anyway.
