Pre-Birthday Dinner at Ocean Basket

Last Tuesday, I had my early day at work, and this is the day!!!
A pre-birthday dinner for ate Monins!! ^_^

It's time to try the Ocean Basket!!
So excited!!!
It's a South African restaurant which opened last year.
This is part of the international expansion of the famous seafood restaurant chain of South Africa.

My gals have tried it before but because my roommate had her cravings, so they have to give in.
And this time I am with them.
Wooohooo!

While waiting for our orders,
we were served with bread, butter and a few dips - garlic, green pepper, and tartar.

For our main course,
we had a Full Deck Platter which consists of 30 pcs of Prince Prawns, Mussels,
Calamari Steak Strips, fries, rice and the Catch of the Day.
This can be shared by 4 people.
Awesome right?

Full Deck Platter
We had additional mussels and rice on top of our orders, in case the need arises. Haha!
*Mahirap na mabitin. hehe!*
The mussels were exquisite especially when it's still hot, and the cheese's still melted.
On the other hand, the rice was better according to them.
The last time they ate here, the rice wasn't cooked properly.
So it's one good job guys. : )

Mussels in Lemon Garlic Sauce

It took us only a few minutes before we finished the platter.
We had less chitchat as we indulge,
giving in to our basic need I guess, food. Haha!

Poor prawns.
Our tummy was so full. :)
But of course, we had to make a special room for desserts, right?

We asked for cheesecake, and it was satisfactory.
The top portion was quite stiff when it should be in the crust part.
The kick wasn't what we expected.

Feeling full, we asked for our check.
And just when we were waiting for our bill,
we noticed these words on our table.
Cool and late huh?
I guess we were busy taking photos of ourselves that we didn't see them ahead of time.

my favorite :)

A selfie with the birthday girl. :)

Overall, the food was great.
We enjoyed the appetizer, whole platter, and the drinks.
For sure, I'll be back for more if cravings kick in.
