We started our trip by traversing to Savidug town.
The road was a little bumpy. Had their fair share of ongoing road constructions,
but we didn't feel it much as we were in a truck.
The journey around gave us splendid view of the oceans.
Totally picture worthy.
Good thing that we sit beside the driver
and we had the most wonderful view of the what's ahead of us.
Our first halt was a tour around the traditional village of Savidug.
It housed the well-preserved stone houses of the Ivatan, primarily made from lime stones and cogon grass roofs which are replaced after 30 years.
Doing a little legwork around the narrow alleyway is just incredible.
It took me to a place where life is less complicated.
Walking through, we passed by some ruins and abandoned stone houses.
Our guide told us that the Ivatan house consists of two structures, the kitchen and the main house.
They typically don't incorporate it with each other because if fire happens, all of it will be burnt.
So they build them separately.
Coming to the end of the alley, we paused where St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel stood.
It's a small chapel painted in white with Spanish influence exterior.
Beside the chapel is an old structure with doors and windows good for photo ops.
(Actually all of the area are picture perfect.)
It's an Old Beaterio, an old priest's house.
One can go in and explore the barren and flabby interiors.
